New Skill Wanted: Avid Media Composer

I try to challenge myself to learn something new every now and then. The past two weeks I've had the opportunity to learn two new valuable things:  1) how to load and view media in the complex editing software program, Avid, and 2) how to drive a motorboat.

Though these skills have nothing to do with producing hand-drawn artwork, I've really enjoyed it.

Last week, I was hired by Lone Wolf Documentary Group to log raw footage of the gold mining expedition in Greenland for Animal Planet. Tedious though it was, it allowed me to finally get a taste of Avid Media Composer, which I've been wanting to learn. 

I'm currently downloading a tutorial package from Avid's website so I can actually learn how film editing is done. I only wish I had done this sooner! Another logger also on the job clued me in to this opportunity last week. 

... I'll get to driving a motorboat in another post. :)
